WILLIAMSTOWN -- A Harrison County man wanted for felonies was arrested on Monday following a traffic stop by the Williamstown Police Department.
Isaac Daniel Hiney, 39, of Yvonne Lane, Clarksburg, was arrested on three felony warrants charging him with strangulation, malicious assault and third-offense domestic battery after an incident in Harrison County on Nov. 18, Williamstown Police Chief Shawn Graham said. Hiney is accused of assaulting his mother and causing serious injuries, Graham said.
The Williamstown Police Department was advised earlier in the day by an investigator with the Harrison County Sheriff's Office that Hiney might be enroute to the new Williamstown Elementary School with a construction crew from the Clarksburg area, Graham said.
Graham spotted the suspect vehicle on Highland Avenue and a traffic stop was conducted on West Eighth Street.
Hiney was found to be a passenger in the vehicle and was arrested on the warrants without incident, Graham said.
Hiney was taken to the police department where he was processed and then taken for arraignment at Wood County Magistrate Court where Magistrate Jody Purkey confined him to the North Central Regional Jail in lieu of $60,000 bond.
