Three-car crash in Vienna sends four to hospital

VIENNA -- Traffic was backed up on Rosemar Road Thursday afternoon following a three-car accident that sent four people to the hospital.

The accident occurred just before 5 p.m. and the Vienna Police Department, the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department and St. Joseph Ambulance responded to the scene.

A silver SUV was stopped on Rosemar Road in the northbound lane to turn left into Jackson Park, and a second vehicle, a silver Honda, stopped behind the first, Vienna police said. A Ford struck the second vehicle, pushing it into the first vehicle, police said.

''All occupants were transported to the hospital, but there were no serious injuries that I am aware of,'' said Sgt. R. Cox of the Vienna Police Department.

Traffic was backed up in both directions along Rosemar Road. The Vienna VFD directed traffic around the scene. Names of those involved were not available at press time.

Cox said the accident is still under investigation.
