PARKERSBURG -- An ATV Poker Run will be held Oct. 5 in Ritchie County to benefit Mark Gherke of Parkersburg, who was diagnosed recently with stage 4 cancer and has been unable to work.
Money raised at the event will help with the living and medical expenses for Gherke and his family.
The ride will be rain or shine at the intersection of Goosecreek Road and Long Run. Signs will be posted on West Virginia 47 and U.S. 50.
Registration starts at 9 a.m. and the last ATV goes out at 11 a.m. and in at 5 p.m. on an approximately 50-mile trail. There will be food, cornhole, 50/50 drawing and raffles.
The cost is $15 per rider with a payout for highest and lowest number. Even if you cannot ride, there will be other activities and food at the event, organizers said. If you have questions contact Tanya Gherke at 304-481-5826 or Jill Allen at 304-628-3594.
