VIENNA — WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center will hold its annual Senior Health Expo from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday at the Grand Pointe Conference Center in Vienna.

The event includes low-cost lab work available for residents of all ages, health screenings, demonstrations, more than 50 exhibitors, vendors and services provided through Camden Clark and a Diabetes Roundtable Discussion with Dr. Frank Schwartz, an endocrinologist.

“We want everyone to be able to live a healthy, productive life. That’s why we are offering this event to help area residents get the best possible low price on blood work, health screenings and be educated about the many services available to them through us and the vendors who’ll be with us that day,” said Joyce Hubner, Camden Clark Lifetime Partners Program manage.

The event provides the best value on lab work in the Mid-Ohio Valley, Hubner said,

“WVU Medicine Camden Clark is bringing everything you need to be your healthiest self under one roof at Grand Pointe, and people of all ages are invited and welcome to attend,” she said.

This year’s expo will be held 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday at Grand Pointe.

The diabetes medical panel will convene from noon to 1 p.m. The experts will discuss care, treatment and prevention of the disease. Schwartz will be joined by Nurse Practitioner Megan Geyer, Dietician Lindsay O’Brien and diabetes educator Cindy Hoover.

While the blood tests do not require pre-registration or doctor’s orders, most tests require a 12-hour fast. Lab screenings will be held 8-11 a.m. for the following, including cost:

* Multi-phasic, $15, includes CBC, CMP, Thyroid function and lipid profile

* PSA, $5, prostate cancer screening

* Cardiac Reactive Protein, $5

* Hemoglobin A1c, $5, diabetic maintenance screening

* Thyroid Function, $5

* Bone Density Foot Scan for Osteoporosis, $5

The usual price for the tests is much higher. For example, the PSA prostrate screening usually costs $148 and the test for lipids cost $110.
