Jill Parsons joins Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council Board of Directors

VIENNA — Jill Parsons of Vienna was named to the Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council Board of Directors on April 14 at the council’s annual meeting at Grand Pointe Conference Center in Vienna.

Joining Parsons, a Parkersburg native, on the board is Ellen Slotnick, a Charleston native and resident.

“We are delighted to have Jill Parsons and Ellen Slotnick on our board,” Beth Casey, CEO of Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council, said. “Our board members serve in a volunteer capacity over our 61 county council jurisdiction and work tirelessly to make sure that girls in West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, Virginia and Maryland receive the best possible Girl Scout Leadership Experience. Jill and Ellen will be valuable additions to support our mission of building girls of courage, confidence and character.”

Parsons graduated from Marshall University with a double degree in Health Care Management and Finance, followed by her MBA from the University of South Carolina with a concentration in Marketing. Since December 2010 she has been the President/CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of the Mid-Ohio Valley, overseeing programming and activities for the 380 plus member businesses and community organizations.

In the local community, Parsons has participated in the following professional memberships and community activities: Rotary Club of Parkersburg 2017-2018, president; Launchpad Entrepreneur Pitch Contest, founding committee member; Marshall MOV Thundering Bison Alumni Club, officer, and Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Council and Loan Committee, board member.

The Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council’s board officers are as follows: Board Chair, Patti Alexander; 1st Vice Chair, Jennifer Runyon; 2nd Vice Chair, Kat Simmons; Secretary, Juli Mock; Treasurer, Allison Ballard.
