MINERAL WELLS -- Jeff Morehead, owner of Morehead Marketing of Mineral Wells, won the first place Guru Award in the category of photo retouching at the 2019 Photoshop World Conference May 30-June 1 in Orlando, Fla.

Photoshop World, by Kelbyone, is the world's largest Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom and Photography conference.

The Guru Awards honor and recognize design, photography, retouching and creativity.

Morehead's submission of Craftsman Kitchen reflects real world challenges for commercial photographers in the area of retouching.

"This kitchen was shot at Schrocks of Walnut Creek's showroom and our challenge was to make it look like a finished kitchen in a home," Morehead said.

The showroom kitchen needed modifications such as a new ceiling, floor, and walls, color and perspective correction, as well as a stovetop and window scene, he said.

"We do extensive retouching on a regular basis for our commercial photography clients," Morehead said. "Another client is a home builder, of over 100 homes a year, and they often need us to create a new house plan that requires turning a photo of a partially-built home into a finished plan with added lights, columns, garage doors, driveways, and landscaping."

Morehead Marketing has offices and a commercial photography studio in Mineral Wells. It offers marketing and branding services and specializes in interior, food, product, model, architectural, lifestyle action photography and scenic fine art prints.
