Parkersburg company celebrating 40 years in business

PARKERSBURG — John W. Alkire Jr. founded Copier Word Processing Supply Inc. on Jan. 1, 1979, in Parkersburg.

Starting out Alkire sold copier, typewriter and word processing supplies.

Within one year the company quickly jumped into selling and servicing office equipment in the Parkersburg area. Since then Copier Word Processing Supply Inc. has grown to become one of the largest office equipment dealers in West Virginia with offices now located in Parkersburg, Charleston, Wheeling and Morgantown.

Today the company offers a full line of Multifunctional Copier Devices, Managed I.T. Services and Managed Print Services. The company also handles Document Management and Office Workflow.

Copier Word Processing Supply Inc. ranks nationally among the top dealers for both Canon and Ricoh, the company said.

In 2010, 2016, 2018, the company was awarded the National Award of Excellence by Ricoh.

In 2016, the company won the National Award of Excellence for Major Account Sales.

In 2017, Copier Word Processing Supply Inc. sold more printers than any other dealer in the United States by Ricoh.

Copier Word Processing Supply Inc. services hundreds of customers throughout West Virginia and Southeast Ohio, employs over 35 people, and continues to give back in many ways to its communities.
