Braves rally past Phillies in playoff opener

ATLANTA (AP) — Austin Riley hit a three-run homer off All-Star closer Jhoan Duran in the eighth inning and the Atlanta Braves rallied past the Philadelphia Phillies 5-3 on Tuesday in the opener of a best-of-three National League Wild Card Series. Duran (0-1), who allowed just two homers in 61 regular-season games, gave up a single to Michael Harris II before hitting Ozzie Albies with a pitch. BEVERLY — Fort Frye’s seniors went out in style in the final regular-season home match of their careers, sweeping Morgan 25-12, 25-22 and 25-13 Monday at Dan Liedtke Court. Adeline Willey, Kali Shilling, Haven Shilling, Aubrie Lang and Ella Dowler were all honored prior to the match and played crucial roles in the Cadets’ 10th win of the season.
