Marietta, Warren open soccer season at MC

MARIETTA -- On Friday night at Marietta College, the Warren and Marietta varsity boys and girls soccer teams competed in a doubleheader.

In the girls match, the Tigers came away victorious 2-0 over the Warriors, while the boys match concluded in a 1-1 tie.

The MHS girls got on the board when Annalise Spencer scored off Fiona Fowler's free kick. Fowler tallied her second assist later in the match when her pass to Grace Spencer resulted in another goal.

Maura Misel recorded three saves and was credited with a clean sheet as Marietta improved to 1-0.

Maddox Broomfield scored Marietta's lone goal in the boys match.
