Patricia “Pat” M. Rouse

Patricia “Pat” M. Rouse, age 73, of Hebron, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, February 13, 2026. She was born April 20, 1952, in Cincinnati to the late Woodrow and Alma Carney.

Pat is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, David Rouse; her daughters, Amy (Andy Erkis) Rouse, Angela (Daniel Logan) Rouse, and Abby (Scott) Holtkamp; and her cherished grandchildren, Aria, Torin, Ashden, Zoe, Avelyn, Tyson, Aidan, Lauren, Dani, Noah, and Kaitlyn. She is also lovingly remembered by five sisters and brothers-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews, and her beloved dogs, Molly and Makenna.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Donald Carney, and sister-in-law, Louise Carney; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Rouse.

Pat was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, and dog lover. She shared a loving and steadfast partnership with her husband, Dave, for over five decades. Her family meant everything to her, and she especially treasured time spent with her grandchildren.

Pat dedicated 23 years to education as a schoolteacher in Belpre and Pickerington, where she touched the lives of many students and colleagues. A lifelong seeker of knowledge, she was an avid reader with a deep love of learning. She enjoyed gardening, traveling when able, and graciously hosting family and friends in her warm and welcoming home – where there were always beautiful surroundings and plentiful food.

Family and friends may call from 3-­7 p.m. on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home, 550 Hill Road North, Pickerington, Ohio 43147. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made in Pat’s name to Licking County Humane Society, 825 Thornwood Drive, Heath, Ohio 43056.
