The Memorial Bridge in Parkersburg will reopen to traffic on Aug. 31, Parkersburg Bridge Partners, the owners, announced today.

The toll will be free for a limited time, the Bridge Partners said in a release. Tolling will follow at a later date with at least two weeks' notice to the community, the company said.

The bridge closed in August 2022 and underwent a major rehabilitation.

A grand opening ceremony and "first drive for veterans" will be held 10-11 a.m. Aug. 31 at the east end of Memorial Bridge. Proceeds will go to support the American Legion in Parkersburg and the Belpre Veteran's Association.
