BASEBALL *Belpre’s AJ Copen struck out 10 batters over innings and went 3 for 4 at the plate with four runs scored and three runs driven in. *Casey Burkhammer fanned eight batters over four shutout innings in St. Marys’ 11-3 win over Ritchie County. Kyle Bullman was 2 for 4 with two RBIs while Shane Deweese added two hits and scored three runs. Grayson Dodd doubled, singled and drove in all three runs for the Rebels. TENNIS *Will Haller and Mills Stull picked up singles wins to help lead Marietta past Jackson, 3-2. Owen Mason and Alex Greenwood won their doubles match.

West Virginia SSAC Board of Control adopts new transfer rule

Following the signing of Governor Patrick Morrissey’s legislation repealing the state’s transfer rule, the WVSSAC Board of Control has announced a new transfer rule to govern high school athletics in West Virginia. The repeal cleared the way for the WVSSAC to promulgate transfer guidelines through its established rule-making process. The Board of Control voted 147-0 to approve a rule that preserves school choice for students and families while providing structure to support competitive balance among member schools.
