PARKERSBURG -- Wood County Recreation Summer Tennis was held at the Parkersburg City Park tennis courts from June 16 to July 30 every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning.
Participants ranged from 5-18 years old, with group classes being held from 8 a.m. to noon.
We had over 130 signups this year, with 90 to 110 consistently showing up for classes weekly.
Our five instructors this summer were Dee Lantz, Megan Duncan, Cale Stutler, Liya Tewodros and Zander Duncan.
The final week of instruction was Tournament Week for the older groups, and Olympics (skills) for the younger groups. A pool party with pizza and snacks was held on the final day to thank all participants, families, and instructors.
