Williamstown hosts annual Iron Man competition

WILLIAMSTOWN — The Williamstown High School football team hosted the Ted Watson Memorial Iron Man Thursday in Williamstown.

Christian Hoosier was named the Iron Man champion after scoring 325 points. Blake Brown was a close second at 322, while Colin Jones placed third at 316. Rounding out the Top 10 were Breck Allen (303), JP Strobl (294), Wyatt Ridgeway (269), Jackson Fulton and Evan Bailey placing in a tie for seventh (265), Lincoln Knapp (257) and Mason Kearn (255).

“This event is a cornerstone of our program,” Williamstown football coach Chris Beck said. “It pushes our players beyond their limits physically and mentally. Each one of them showed up and gave it their all.”

The event was divided into six events. The top three in each event were:

Dumbbell Carry: 1. (tie) Colin Jones and JP Strobl (69); 3. Evan Bailey (67)

Clean and Press: 1. Blake Brown (57); 2. Jackson Fulton (56); 3. Breck Allen (47)

Sled Pull: 1. Christian Hoosier (63); 2. Cllin Jones (57); 3. Miles Flanagan (53)

Tire Flip: 1. JP Strobl (65); 2. Jackson Kerr (64); 3. (tie) Breck Allen and Lincoln Allen (62)

Bench Press (new record): 1. Christian Hoosier and Blake Brown (81); 3. Breck Allen (50)

Sled Push: 1. Colin Jones (49); 2. (tie) Lincoln Knapp and Jackson Kerr (46)

Team Champion: Team Adams (Colin Jones, JP Strobl, Carson Sutton, Evan Bailey, Landon Ritchie)
