South’s Cameron Fallon wins Callaway Event

KINGWOOD -- Parkersburg South rising sophomore Cameron Fallon carded a 2-over par round of 74 here Tuesday at the Preston Country Club to win the Callaway Junior Tour event for the 15-16 division.
Fallon, who played the par-5s even and was 1-under on the par-4s, carded a trio of birdies on the front nine en route to securing a three-stroke victory against Morgantown's Gabriel Watson.
Eastern's Kasey Savoy shot an 82, which was good for third place.
Another Patriot, Nate Gilpin, completed his round with an 84 and that was good for a fifth-place tie.
In the 17-18 division, Williamstown's William Barniak had the top area effort. The Yellowjacket shot an 86 and finished alone in eighth. Marietta's Aiden Harris posted a 102, which was good for solo 12th.
Vienna's Jack Louden carded an 85 and that put him in a tie for third in the 13-14 division.
The only female from the Mid-Ohio Valley to play on Tuesday was Williamstown's Madilyn Buttrey, who finished fourth in the 10-14 division with a 101.
During Monday's CJRT event at Bridgeport Country Club, Waterford's John Wharton placed third in the 17-18 division after posting a 6-over par round of 78.
Fallon's 88 was good for a 10th-place tie in the 15-16 division. Gilpin's 90 put him in a tie for 13th.
Louden, who finished sixth on Monday after shooting a 92, was topped by St. Marys' Tripp Morrison. The Blue Devil had a 90 and tied for third. Ritchie County's Carson Hall was 11th with a 110.
In the 12-and-under division, Parkersburg's Cooper Welch managed a 97 at Bridgeport, which was good for solo third. Tyler County's J.J. Smith and Titus Smith had rounds of 101 and 102, respectively, which put them in sixth and seventh place.
Parkersburg South's Lauren Cline, who will be a senior, finished third at Bridgeport in the 15-18 division after shooting a 103.
Buttrey was the lone area participant in the 10-14 division and she tied for third after shooting 100.
