PARKERSBURG -- The bout sheet for next Saturday's Southside Rumble 9 at Parkersburg South High School is shaping up and Dawghouse Promotions' Mike Sheppard is excited for another big event.

There are currently 15 scheduled bouts and that includes the main event for the vacant World Boxing Foundation International Silver super welterweight belt that will pit a pair of fighters from the Buckeye State in Kettering's Sam Wildenhaus and Youngstown's Vic Toney.

"I don't really know them very well. Sam fought on a show of mine two or three years ago and got stopped, but you learn when you lose," noted Sheppard, who also will have a pair of Dawghouse Promotions title fights.

"Victor, he's one of those Youngstown guys. They start really early up there. Gary Wolfe is actually training Victor right now. He's down here in camp."

Zach Canaday of Clendenin will attempt to defend his DHP 178-pound belt against Parkersburg's Michael Brown. Up for grabs is the DHP 152-pound belt and that will go to either Bellaire's Richie Loew or Parkersburg's David Hardman.

Grantsville's Wayne Sampson is expected to open the fights, which begin at 6 p.m. with doors opening at 5 p.m., in a mixed martial arts battle against former Roane County Raider Tyler May. The other MMA bout currently on the card will pit Charleston's Nicholas Cobb against St. Marys' Jeremy Pratt.

Two amateur kickboxing matches are also on tap. V02 Fitness will have Jacob Dean facing Parkersburg's Morrison Dailey as well as Jacob Stanton taking on Charleston's Zuri McCallister. There's also one other pro boxing match on tap featuring Clarksburg's Brock Willis taking on Gassaway's Trae Stout.

"Great matches," Sheppard said of the card, which lost Marietta boxer Trevor Bell due to being an expecting father as well as a MMA bout with Wirt County's Garrett Parsons, who Sheppard hopes to still find a match for.

"They always are and these guys that go through this they come to fight every time. Those guys from V02 Fitness are ready and they come to fight. The days of just jumping in there on a week or two of training, it's over. You just can't do that."

Advance tickets are $25 and can be purchased at Smoker Friendly, Sound Exchange and The League Room. Tickets at the gate are $30. Anyone interested in a VIP table should text 304-483-5503.

Fight fans who are unable to attend the event on Saturday, Oct. 15 inside the Rod Oldham Athletic Center will be able to utilize the pay-per-view link at fights.platformvideo.live.

Sheppard said this likely will be the final show he puts on this year due to "more state regulations now, time restraints. It's getting to be too much."
