PARKERSBURG -- Bentley Kinzer knocked in three runs and Brett Haskins, who went 3 for 3, was the last of seven pitchers host Parkersburg Post 15 used here Wednesday evening at City Park during an 11-2 triumph versus Buckhannon Post 21.

Drew Woofter worked the opening two frames with three punchouts and only allowed a bloop single to Grant Mealey to start the second. However, he was erased on a 6-3 double play by shortstop Nic Menarchek and first baseman Evan Swain. Buckhannon scored twice in the sixth without a hit after falling behind 9-0, but managed just one other single. That came in the seventh from Landon Marple, but Mealey followed by hitting into a 5-4-3 double play turned by Gatlin Donohew, Haskins and Swain.

"Anytime you can pitch seven kids and only give up two hits and two runs, I'll take it," admitted Post 15 skipper Mike Goodwin, who watched Brodie Wiggins earn the mound triumph with a scoreless third that featured two strikeouts.

Cade Goode pitched the fourth, Eli Reeves allowed two runs over his two frames and was followed by Caden Parker in the seventh and Donohew in the eighth.

"The kids played well and they threw strikes," added Goodwin, whose 3-0 club plays in the Morgantown tournament starting with a 4 p.m. affair Friday versus Uniontown Post 51 at Mylan Park. "It got a little away from us a couple times, but we recovered and made a double play here and there.

"I'm glad we got at least three games in before the Morgantown tournament so that we could get some cohesiveness going, some chemistry going and some at-bats. We got a little bit of experience under our belt, but the Morgantown tournament will be a challenge."

Donohew reached on a fielder's choice and scored Parkersburg's first run when Woofter had an RBI single off losing pitcher Isaac Lane in the third. Haskins reached on an infield single and crossed on an error.

Post 21 (3-3) found itself trailing 4-0 after allowing two runs in the fourth. Izek Baldwin started the inning by reaching on an error and was lifted for the courtesy runner Parker. After a Wiggins single, Swain delivered a two-run stand-up double to right.

A five-run fifth blew the game open.

The bases were loaded for Kinzer after Menarchek walked, Haskins reached on an infield single and Woofter drew a base on balls. Kinzer came through with a sacrifice fly and that was followed by a Baldwin RBI knock, a Wiggins RBI fielder's choice, a Reeves run-scoring two-bagger as well as a Parker RBI groundout.

Wyatt Mason and Drayden Rice walked on four pitches each to open the sixth against Reeves. Mason scored on Zach Calef-Boring's RBI groundout and a wild pitch plated Rice.

A one-out single to center by Menarchek got things going in the bottom of the sixth. Haskins then came through with his third single of the game. Following a sacrifice by Goode, Kinzer knocked in both runners with a single to center.

Parkersburg had a chance at a mercy rule win in the eighth when it had the bases loaded with one out, but hit into a 6-2-3 double play.
