Kiki’s Corner: Friendships are special

(Photo Illustration - Friends - MetroCreativeConnection)

A day without a friend is like a jar without a single drop of honey left inside, said Winnie the Pooh. LOL.

Friends are very special and friendships develop from a young age with many friendships coming and going but never to forget them.

You will always remember both the good and bad times that you all shared together through the years.

A true friend will be there when you need them, sharing and being happy when you need support and sad during your difficult times.

When a person is having difficult times and problems is when you really find out who is or who is not a true friend.

When you see your friend is struggling with a situation it is up to you to comfort, encourage and be a good listener with positive advice,

Sometimes our lives are so busy that we fail to take the effort and time to connect with them and be there to support them when they need it.

It use to be the fad to send “Get Well or Thinking of You” cards etc. and I am sure many still do but with all the new technology it is much simpler and faster to send a text or email rather than depend on the post office that may take several days to get your card delivered. All this is due to the drastic change in our lifestyle and communication advancement making things easier and faster to do and take care of which also makes the world much closer.

I have many friends that I stay frequently in touch with here in America but also in Canada, Europe and Australia and I have found that the best way to communicate is by telephone, text or email due to the distances and time difference.

Friends are both non-related and related and many last an entire lifetime while others just for a short period of time.

We all need to share love and kindness with everyone to assure our closeness and friendships remain warm and faithful to our friends.

I will end this article with a quote that was on a towel they were passing out at a WVU basketball game in Morgantown — “IF YOU ARE GOING TO LIVE, LEAVE A LEGACY. MAKE A MARK ON THE WORLD, THAT CAN’T BE ERASED.”

Till next week.
