* Mrs. O. H. Michaelson of Charleston was visiting at Mr. Geo. Hays.
* Mr. Chas. Kennedy has gone to Wheeling to visit his parents.
* Mr. C. L. Shain has returned from Clarksburg, and is once more on duty in his office.
* Squire Devaughn, C. D. Henderson, John Robinson, Jr., and Harry Parsons were all at Clarksburg this week attending court. The boys are stuck on the town.
* Miss Rose Lavelle is spending the week at her home at Cornwallis.
* Miss Maud Smith has gone to Volcano to spend the summer.
* Mrs. Martha Parrish and daughter, Mrs. Trislow of South Parkersburg, are visiting at Mrs. Bailey's.
* The Fewsmith Lumber Co., have shut down indefinitely.
* A. J. Devaughn of White Oak was here Wednesday.

Davisville Items
Our town is improving rapidly. We now have two enterprising news agents and consequently two or three daily papers.
* Miss Sarah Barrett was calling on friends in your city last Wednesday.
* Little Allie and Lena Morrison returned home Monday after a pleasant week's visit with their Grand-parents at Walker Station.
* Mr. Miller of Parkersburg and Mr. Ellison of Marietta, were in our town last Tuesday on business.
* Jas. Donohue passed through here last Sunday en-route to his home at Silver Run.
* Mrs. B. Butcher of Sand Plains is the guest of her sister Mrs. Creel.
* Johnny Richardson, Harry Earl, and three or four others from Parkersburg have their "Turtle Camp" about 1 1/2 miles from here and are having a glorious time fishing and hunting. "Hopkins" would have killed the groundhog but had the muzzle of the gun too far past the animal so nothing was hurt.

Blennerhassett. Special Correspondence, May 25
* Aunt Peggy Johnson has been repairing her house.
* T.E. Carpenter, of Vincent, Ohio, visited this vicinity Sunday.
* Roger Seffens, Jr. is now hauling rock for the new city building.
* Mel McMurray, of Parkersburg, mounted his wheel and spent the evening of the 24th in our neighborhood.
* Charlie Stanton has purchased a fine buggy.
* Late frost and drought have done serious damage to crops.
* Mrs. Roger Seffens, Jr. is now in Wheeling visiting her sister, Mrs. J. J. Loper.
* We are glad to say that Jack Johnson, who has been sick for some time is much better.
* Mrs. Wm. Merrill will spend the summer at home with her father C. W, Seffens, her husband being away on business.
* Miss Maggie Hazen has gone to Lower Salem, Ohio, to attend memorial day services.
* Miss Dora Gray and W.O. Robinson were married at Marietta, May 14.
* The Bethel Sunday school is progressing nicely with quite a large attendance.
* The B. Y. P. U. has good attendance and great interest manifested by both young and older members of the church. The president, Bro. A. B. Cummins, being an enthusiastic leader, it must be a success.
* The road machine has gone over our roads removing the winter roughness and putting them in fine condition.

* Alex Woodyard and little granddaughter, Miss Oan Woodyard, of Lubeck, were visiting at James Mull's on Thursday.
* Mrs. John W. Sams spent Wednesday and Thursday with friends in Lubeck.
* Master Willie and Miss Lillie Sarber left Friday to visit relatives at Waverly.
* Mrs. Fritz Pahl and daughter, Miss Addie, spent Wednesday with friends in Parkersburg.
* Miss Mattie Bridges was the guest of her sister, Mrs. G. B. Johnson, of Parkersburg, Saturday and Sunday.
* Floyd Sams and sister, Miss Rose, spent Sunday evening at J. W. Sams'.
* Mrs. James Williams and daughter, Miss Julia, were the guests at Ben Williams' Wednesday.
* Misses Daisy Williams and Annie Posey were the guests of friends in Quakertown Wednesday.
* Misses Ella, Lou and Lizzie Sams, were the guests of friends at Blennerhassett recently.
* Children's Day will be observed at this place the second Sunday in June.
