EASTER EVENT AT PARKERSBURG HIGH SCHOOL
Children are the future of our country and also of our city; therefore we want you to join us at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, at Parkersburg High School's campus to celebrate the ninth annual "Spring-Easter Celebration" with great entertainment by the PHS A Cappella Choir, PHS Band Brass Ensemble, Van Devender Middle School Choir, Jackson Middle School Select Choir, ROTC, Red Wings and PHS cheerleaders, with the guest speaker being Assistant Wood County Schools Superintendent Mike Fling.
Following the entertainment and program will be the annual "Egg Hunt" sponsored by the Elks Lodge #198 providing more than 4,000 filled eggs. Plus, bicycles will be given away to two lucky children.
The Egg Hunt will consist of various age categories, with the winners receiving a big Easter basket donated by the student body of PHS.
Faculty member and student council adviser Michelle Swisher and her students will be instrumental in the organization of this year's event along with me.
Artsbridge will be providing crafts for the children that would like to take part, plus the Chick-fil-A cow will be present to give out coupons. The Easter Bunny will greet all the little ones and celebrate the lighting on the front of PHS.
PARKERSBURG SOUTH HIGH SCHOOL EVENT
Please join us for the third annual spring celebration and egg hunt on the front campus of Parkersburg South High School on Thursday, March 30, with the activity opening at 4:45 p.m. and performances beginning at 5:45, followed by a large egg hunt with more than 6,000 eggs.
One golden egg in each age group will be redeemable for Easter baskets sponsored by the Parkersburg South student body after the entertainment is presented by various groups and organizations, including the South band and choir. There will be various treats for all.
Another very special drawing will be held with bicycles to be given away to four lucky people, donated by Raber Law Firm and the PSHS freshman class.
Also making an appearance will be the Chick-fil-A cow with free coupons and the Easter Bunny to welcome everyone.
Jaime Moss and the PSHS Student Council have been very instrumental in helping me organize this event again this year. Mark the dates and bring the family over for these exciting evenings.
