Letter to the Editor: Do you believe?

Do you believe in the power of prayer? Do you believe in this day and age that physical miracles are possible? Well, I do.
You may not know how I have been blessed 3 times in the past and how my twisted body became better overnight. Each time it lasted for about a year. It has happened again! Last Sunday morning I woke up able to stand up straighter than I've been able to do in months. I found I could walk looking forward instead of at the floor. When I put my left hand under my right arm instead of my little finger touching my right hip bone there was at least 3-4 inches of space. My bellybutton was no longer just under my breasts. I could lay my hand between my waist and my breasts again. When my husband measures me on Tuesday I was 4 ½" taller than at the doctor's office only 2 weeks earlier. I am thankful I have been given more time again. As each day progresses my back does get tired and I do start to slouch but after I rest for a while I can still stand up and look forward.
There are 2 things about this miracle; first, I believe people have been praying for me. Physical therapy is helping me get stronger but I could not have made this huge change overnight on my own. Second, the other times it happened I was asked, "If God would bless you this way, why not heal you completely?" My answer is this, "At my age I'm going to have something wrong with me so I'll take this. Besides, I only asked to breathe easier and not get discouraged. I was given what I asked and more."
I'm not writing to debate different religions. I'm simply giving credit where it is due, for what I believe has happened to me. I am telling my story as a thank you to you and any of the other people who prayed for me and especially to the One who listened and answered prayers.
You may wonder why me? I don't have the answer. I only know I must be my best.
This doesn't change how I feel about my family and friends. I still love you and all of them. It doesn't change how important you are or how I wish you health and happiness. It does confirm I should keep working to help others when I can, whether it be in thoughts or actions.
Thank you for your time reading this letter. I know not everyone will believe what I have told you or they have other ideas for the reason it has happened. This may seem like bragging, but I'm not. I share this good news with you so if you are having a hard time you can know, others care about you. You can have hope when things seem to be getting dark. It's not over until our last breath, so keep trucking on. Tomorrow is another day. If we wake up it is another chance to be happy. I believe in prayer.
My love to you,
Bonita (Bonnie) Eaton
