Letter to the Editor: Anderson what we need
Trending
Republicans don't have much going for them this year. All they can brag about is the Big Beautiful Bill, which is mostly a tax giveaway for the rich that is exploding the national debt. When they've got nothing else to run on, politicians tend to attach labels to their opponents, labels such as communist or socialist. Then they revert to lies. Democrats do not want to defund the police or shut down the prisons or open up the borders. Their main objectives are to protect Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security; and to get big money out of politics so that Congress can work for ordinary Americans and not the super rich.
Not exactly a radical idea.
I'm listening to Democrats all over the country who are hoping to take back the Senate. They are good. Compare them to what their Republican opponents are saying.
It's important that we take back the Senate so we can start to bring back some balance to the Supreme Court. The Senate we have now will confirm any far right justice that Trump nominates and vacancies are likely to come up.
Be sure to talk to your friends about our own West Virginia nominee, who is hoping to replace Shelley Capito. Capito is better than most of the GOP senators, but too often caves in and gives Trump his way by confirming incompetent cabinet members and judges. Running against her in November is Rachael Anderson, a public interest attorney from Morgantown. A public interest attorney represents families against utility companies and their ilk.
She's just what we need right now; someone in a high position to help us fight this Valley Link transmission line that no one in West Virginia wants.
And Rachael will not be another rubber stamp for Trump.
