Letter to the Editor: Who do you want in control?

When you start seeing outside groups pour money into Wood County with ads and attacks, understand this: There’s a reason.

They’re not focused on areas where they already have control.

They come after the places that still think for themselves.

Right now, that’s Wood County.

Our delegation has been doing the work — asking tough questions, standing our ground, and putting Wood County and West Virginia first. And when you do that, you don’t always make outside organizations happy.

So they spend money.

They run polished ads.

They try to influence who represents you.

At the same time, the ones actually doing the job become the target.

That’s not by accident.

And when you see one voice getting nothing but positive attention from those same outside groups, don’t confuse that with results.

That’s alignment.

This really comes down to a simple choice:

Do you want decisions made here at home — or shaped by outside interests?

I’ll keep doing what I’ve always done — working for the people of Wood County and standing up for what’s right for West Virginia.
