Letter to the Editor: ‘Trump derangement syndrome’

Following are but a few definitions and observations of an honest and objective journalist. Among key responsibilities include: minimizing harm, treating subjects and sources as human beings deserving of respect. Fairness and objectivity: balancing the need for information and or opinion against potential harm or discomfort.
Pursuit of news and continual display of opinion is not a license for disregard of ethic or arrogance or undue intrusiveness and especially not to continually put one’s own personal opinion and what clearly amounts to one’s own disgust and hatred of anyone, especially not to the president of the United States of America!
For many past issues, the editor of the Parkersburg News has been clearly exercising their position to, in lack of a better word, bash the sitting president. Like him, hate him, support him and his administration or put forth effort in order to harm his presidency. A journalist or editor of a daily newspaper has no license or business to daily criticize ANY sitting president. But clearly on display in nearly every edition of the Parkersburg News is a small so-called cartoon caption amidst the op-ed page. For a great number of successive issues, the editor of “The News,” has displayed antagonistic behavior towards our president.
To be fair — Trump is a braggart, or is he arrogant. It would clearly appear so. But it would be amiss to not point out that he is NOT a politician! ALRIGHT! Definition: politic: poly=many, tic=blood-sucking vermin! Trump is neither! His administration’s positive accomplishments are many. Could he and his administration do much more good for the betterment of the citizenry? Indisputedly, YES!
One might ask, how so? One clear way would be to receive support, even a modicum of support from the ENTIRE Congress! Now there is a novel idea!
And yes, even from the ENTIRE Congress!
But, there exists a great number of our representatives (and that term is used loosely) so it would seem, that have been incurably infected by the “TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME.”
Now and again while perusing the op-ed page of said newspaper, I must admit an emotion of disgust but more often disappointment. The middle of page caption at least 95% of editions reflects that the editor may well be infected with TDS! For the editor’s information there exists a virtual multitude of Trump haters that well deserve at least equal exposure.
Let us now learn if said editor can, in future issues, display equal and fair treatment.
