Letter to the Editor: Focus on the right problem

With all of the drivel in other Letters to the Editor and such, I find it hard to decide what to write about. Many are griping about data centers, water being used to cool equipment in such places (nothing new to use river water for cooling), and about anything else you might imagine. Some must gripe, and that is their right, but offer no solutions.

We are dropping bombs on Iran, and rightfully so, because if Iran had nuclear weapons, they would use them on us. They have been saying “Death to America” for decades. We must and did eliminate their capabilities to produce such weapons. I am thankful we have a president who has the courage to do so. The previous administration, whoever was running it (and Joe was not), would probably have done nothing about Iran’s threats. Trump is about 3/4 ding-dong, but he was lawfully elected and that is it. He is the president and he gets to decide some things.

What people still do not realize is that the main problem the world and the U.S. have is a sin problem. If you do not know, sin is anything we say, do or think that is not pleasing to a Holy God. Yes, God is Holy and we really do not understand what Holy is. He detests sin and cannot look upon it. We are born with a sin nature from birth. Our minds are wicked and deceitful and sin naturally. We sin rather than do right. Righteousness is something we do not understand. Some think that doing good is the way to Heaven. The Bible also says, “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags;” Isaiah 64:6 KJV

Because we sin, our punishment is death. Death is something we all will endure and we all will live forever in one of two places. Heaven or Hell. The late evangelist from long ago, Billy Sunday, said “Hell will be so full people’s feet will be sticking out the windows.” That might sound funny, but it just tells us that Hell will be full. The Bible even says that “Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.” Isaiah 5:14 KJV.
