Today I removed my name from the ballot for re-election to the Wood County Board of Education. While I have enjoyed serving on the board of education tremendously, my wife and I are currently planning to downsize our home and purchase another residence in Wood County.

Being that board members are elected by district, and we currently don’t know which district we will end up living in, I felt the honorable and ethical thing to do would be to step back.

It would not be fair to the voters to vote for me, and then I face the chance I would need to resign due to changing my residence/district.

I do want to thank the many people who supported my election to the board of education. I hope I fulfilled your expectations of me.
