This letter is a follow-up to my previous letter, in the Sunday, Oct. 26 newspaper titled “Don’t fund NGOs that support UNSATT.” My source of information for both letters is the National Association for Gun Rights.

Many Americans believe, were the United Nations Small Arms Trade Treaty ratified, the U.S. Supreme Court would rule it unconstitutional. This is incorrect. The U.S. Constitution, Article II, Section 2, Paragraph 2 states “He (the President) shall have power, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate to make treaties provided two-thirds of Senators present concur.”

The U.S. Constitution, Article VI, Paragraph 2 states “This Constitution, and the laws of the United States which shall be made in pursuance thereof; and all treaties made under the authority of the United States, shall be the supreme law of the land; and the judges in every state shall be bound thereby, anything in the Constitution or laws of any state to the contrary notwithstanding.”

Thus, the U.S. Supreme Court could not overturn a duly ratified trade treaty. Were the UNSATT ratified, our Second Amendment would become null and void. The other amendments would no longer be safe, because the Second Amendment was written to safeguard the other amendments and the entire Constitution. Many of our founding fathers believed our Second Amendment right to bear arms should have been the First Amendment because of its importance.

It is no surprise the United Nations, consisting of many nations hostile to the U.S., seek disarming American citizens. A nation with free armed citizenry is virtually inconquerable.

History has proven an armed nation has citizens while a disarmed nation has subjects.

President Trump unsigned the UNSATT during his first term, but Biden resigned it, during his term. Trump should again unsign this treaty, if he hasn’t already done so, destroy it and end the threat to our Second Amendment once and for all.

CNN, MSNBC and other fake news networks have never reported on the UNSATT because they are in cahoots with the Democratic Party, to sneak the treaty’s ratification by the American people without their awareness, until it’s too late to stop. I’m perplexed why Fox News, NewsMax and other conservative news networks never cover the UNSATT. I’m disappointed in them.
