HR 38 a must-pass

(Letter to the Editor - Photo Illustration - MetroCreativeConnection)

American gun owners may be one step away from national constitutional carry nationwide. Pro-Second Amendment Congressman from North Carolina Richard Hudson has introduced House Resolution 38, in the U.S. House of Representatives: “The Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act.”

HR 38 must be attached to a “must pass” spending bill to ensure our constitutional right to keep and bear arms is finally enshrined in federal law. HR 38 could make it through the House of Representatives by a slim majority on its own, only to be filibustered and killed by the Democrats in the Senate. Thus HR 38 must be attached to a “must pass” budget bill.

Getting HR 38 passed would herald a new era of constitutional freedom for law-abiding gun owners:

No more sacrificing safety when traveling to a different state.

No worries about being in compliance with state gun laws while traveling with personal firearms.

No more being at the mercy of criminals because lawmakers of a state decide you can’t be allowed to exercise your constitutional right of self defense.

No more being treated like a criminal for exercising your Second Amendment rights.

Law-abiding gun owners in West Virginia want action taken on this long overdue legislation now — while we have the votes and while we have a president who has already promise to sign a nationwide concealed carry reciprocity bill into law when it’s put on his desk.

Today’s socialist democratic party does not support the Second Amendment or the right to bear arms. (It’s in the national Democratic Party platform). Thus, their opposition to the national reciprocity concealed carry bill will predictably, be that it would put more guns on the streets, will result in more shooting and more killings. This is total hogwash.

It is illegal for convicted felons to be in possession of a firearm. Those same felons who violate the law and carry illegally are already doing so.

The national concealed carry reciprocity law would change the odds in the favor of law-abiding citizens nationwide prevailing during a violent encounters, especially in “blue” states and cities.

Everyone should contact their representatives and tel them to support the national concealed carry reciprocity act, HR 38 in the House.
