Letter to the Editor: Think about your vote

I received a package which I thought was going to be the novel written by my niece, but instead it was a package from Americans for Prosperity. What an unpleasant experience. Inside was a letter from Senator Ron Johnson from Wisconsin and an eight-page letter from Emily Seidel, a video telling how to win the House and Senate and elect Trump. They are planning to spend money to get the vote of Latinos. A firewall strategy to do this by door knocking, providing data, Libre Action. The literature was begging for money so they could elect their candidates. The propaganda material was telling to save the American Dream.
What is the American Dream? To me it means that every woman is able to make decisions concerning her body with the help of her partner and physician. It means that a person can freely love who they choose without government interference. It means that a person should be paid a living wage so they can support their family. It means that all should have healthcare, not just the elite. It means that we continue to have decent roads, water systems, clean air, public schools and libraries, the right to go to school, worship and enjoy a concert without getting shot.
It is sad that a gun has more rights than a child in school. It is sad that people are so upset about the life of an embryo but only send love and prayers if a person is shot and killed at school, etc. It is sad that so much money is being spent to make sure people who will follow through on Project 2025 are elected.
This election is of utmost importance. People need to think seriously about the right to vote. We need people who will work for us, the retired, the nurses, teachers, coal miners, oil well drillers, solar installers, people in retail rather than the coal barons, top executives and board members.
In West Virginia we need Steve Williams in the governor’s office, Thornton Cooper as Secretary of State, Mary Beth Claytor as State Auditor, Teresa Toriseva as Attorney General, Deborah Stiles as Secretary of Agriculture and send Glenn Elliot to Washington, D.C., along with Steve Wendelin. We need a woman in the White House: Kamala D. Harris.
