Confusing signs
I have never felt the need to write a letter to the editor before, but that changed when I started seeing some of the political signs on lawns in Marietta.
One of the political parties has decided that the more you can confuse the voter, the better chance you have of getting their vote! Some of the signs suggest voting “yes” on Issue 1 to stop gerrymandering. Others suggest voting “no” on Issue 1 for the same purpose.
But voting “no” on Issue 1 actually supports the current method of determining district borders. As we have seen over the past few years, that method does not work in establishing fair district boundaries.
Voting yes on Issue 1 will establish a citizen board not made up of politicians, and will support the fair determination of district boundaries.
Just make sure that you understand the difference between a yes and no vote on this issue. THEN VOTE!
