Letter to the Editor: Thank you

(Letter to the Editor - Photo Illustration - MetroCreativeConnection)

On Sept. 19, 2024, I had a procedure done on my spine. It required numbing, which affected my legs. By the time I got home, they were totally rubber. My friend and I, even with the help of a walker, couldn’t get me out of the car.

Two young men with the Parkersburg Fire Department were walking up the sidewalk. They interrupted their job of flushing hydrants to help me out of the car and in my house. After sitting me in the living room they asked if they could do anything else.

I was so embarrassed, frustrated and grateful, I didn’t think to ask their names. If you read and recognize this, please know I thank you.

There are definitely still some good people in our town and world.
