Trump's shooting at Butler rally shows this country at its worst. As much as I feel Trump is unfit to be president, THIS IS NOT HOW TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. One provides voters with reliable information for a decision on election day. The courts will deal with Trump's criminal behavior. Rebuttal 3 was the Georgia voter fraud trial.
The next indictment concerns Trump and associates' participation in Jan. 6 insurrection attempts to prevent lawful counting of the electoral votes. The Jan. 6 committee of Democrats and two Republicans did an excellent job of developing the facts to demonstrate credibility for the special counsel to proceed with an indictment. This was broadcast on national TV.
Trump's attorneys appealed based on presidential immunity. The trial judge ruled against him as did three judges in the appellate court. The Supreme Court, after lengthy delays, ruled the president has full immunity for presidential matters and limited immunity for other situations. This was great for Trump because of all the delays reaching this point and Trump's lawyers having opportunities for future delays as the trial proceeds. This guarantees a trial verdict will not be reached by the election. There is a saying, "justice delayed is justice denied," for the voters. It is worth noting that in the 200+ years of our existence we have never had a problem like this until we encountered Trump's criminal behavior.
The immunity defense defined by SCOTUS suggests the Georgia DA narrow the scope of the voter fraud trial to just the phone call demanding the Georgia Secretary of State FIND 11,800+ ballots with Trump's name. The reason is the voice on the telephone was candidate Trump, not president Trump. The SCOTUS immunity defense does not apply. This shortens the trial and could give independent/undecided voters information.
Writer mentioned in the Rebuttal Part 1 complains these trials are a giant plot to prevent Trump from election campaigning. While some of the criminal events occurred before 2016, Trump's legal defense capability is formidable. Prosecuting attorney needs to be well prepared with all the Is dotted and Ts crossed, otherwise he will lose. Preparation takes a lot of time. If someone of my stature was indicted on Trump's crimes, I would be heavily fined/thrown in jail by 2017. "Hush money" trial judge patronized Trump. I would not get similar treatment.
