Letter to the Editor: Long overdue
Trending
As I was listening to the news today, two things caught my eye. One, Pat Sajak, 77, is retiring after hosting "Wheel of Fortune" for 41 years. The other thing was that Mexico has elected its first female president.
In my research, I count 30 countries or so that have female leadership, and the United States is not one of them! I thought after President Obama was elected, a female president could not be far behind. Here we are almost 16 years later and we have two senior men to choose from on election day.
My country, America, needs to get out of the mindset that only men can run this great country.
There is nothing wrong with being a senior, as I am a senior, but we need to be like Sajak and know when to retire.
Enjoy these senior years that we have been blessed with. The beauty of this blessing is to nurture the next generation and just enjoy life.
In these times, we don't need two senior males as our choices for president. We do need to get into the mindset that it is past time for a country as great as ours to elect a female president!
