I'd like to share an experience that has profoundly impacted my life, all thanks to my free yoga class taught by the extraordinary Melissa Grega at the Pink Church every Wednesday at 6 p.m. During one of these sessions, Melissa introduced us to one agreement over 4 weeks from the book "The Four Agreements" by Don Miguel Ruiz. This book, combined with Melissa's light and love, has inspired me to share these practical concepts for transformation.

"The Four Agreements"distills ancient Toltec wisdom into four simple, yet powerful principles that can radically change how we perceive and interact with the world offering insightful clarity and guidance:

Be Impeccable with Your Word: This agreement emphasizes the power of language. Our words shape our reality, and by speaking with integrity, we can build trust and positivity. Practically, this means avoiding gossip, speaking kindly to ourselves and others, and using our words to inspire rather than harm. I've started a daily practice of being intentionally aware and mindfully reminding myself of the power of words as "spells" we speak to life over our own and others lives.

Don't Take Anything Personally: This principle teaches that people's actions are a reflection of their own reality, not ours. By not taking things personally, we liberate ourselves from unnecessary suffering. To implement this, I've begun to pause and reflect whenever I feel hurt by someone else's words or actions, noting if something sparked an emotion within me, it may be a truth I should investigate within myself. While also reminding myself that their behavior is about them, not me.

Don't Make Assumptions: Often, our misunderstandings and conflicts arise from assumptions. By seeking clarity and asking questions, we can prevent miscommunication and unnecessary stress. In our interactions, we can start to communicate more openly and ask for clarification instead of jumping to conclusions. This can foster more honest and harmonious relationships in our personal and professional life.

Always Do Your Best: This agreement acknowledges that our best can vary from moment to moment. By striving to do our best under any given circumstance, we avoid self-judgment, guilt and regret. I've integrated this principle by setting more realistic goals and celebrating small achievements, which has enhanced my sense of accomplishment and self-compassion.

Melissa Grega's yoga classes have been a life-changer and are more than a yoga practice; during shavasana, she covers me with a blanket and lays her hands on me, transferring her love and light. This simple act makes me feel deeply cared for and safe. This class for me is a spiritual journey that inspires profound personal growth. I encourage everyone to explore this remarkable book and join Melissa's class at the Pink Church for living a more fulfilled, peaceful, and authentic life.

I love you all truly.
