Letter to the Editor: Memory of a kindness

9-11 has recently come to my mind.

That day stands out not just because of the national shock that our country faced but also of the kindness I received from a police officer. He passed the corner where I sat in my car processing two shocks of the day, a national one and a personal one. He stopped long enough to say "Are you OK?" I nodded a hesitant "yes" and he was on his way.

Now years later I'm appreciating that small short question. "Are you OK?"

Whoever he is and wherever he is I'm grateful that not only was he a police officer but also a gentleman who cared. I truly hope he has been blessed immensely for being such.
