Letter to the Editor: Warner wrong on 2020 election
Trending
Referring to a recent article by Secretary of State Mac Warner; "Lessons From the 2020 Election;" I say his conclusions are all wrong. The election was not stolen. There was no fraud. Joe Biden won and that has been proven. All of the very conservative courts have also made that clear.
Mac Warner is again dredging up the Big Lie. His main point is based on a May 10 report by the House Judiciary Committee. James Comer chairs that committee. He is a MAGA election denier and insists on holding his hearings in secret, then lies about what the witnesses say. Joe Biden did not conspire with four former CIA directors to hide what was on Hunter Biden's laptop. It is true that Hunter Biden was going through a personally tragic time in his life. It was not known for sure back then if that laptop they found was even his; but it's an absolute fact that there was nothing on it to do with politics or national security.
Warner then brings up the tired old conspiracy theories about unguarded drop boxes, mail-in ballots, etc. Remember that there was a pandemic going on and no vaccine yet. State officials did what they had to to make voting safe. It worked perfectly and there was no fraud.
What's happening scares me. Russia, China, and MAGA Republicans can say anything and then FOX News and Facebook will run with it. When bad people can convince enough of us to disregard facts, democracies die. So use the mainstream fact checkers. They hate to get things wrong. Their reputations depend on them getting it right.
Maybe Mac Warner himself isn't a liar, just very naive, but that alone makes him unfit for high office.
