Letter to the Editor: Support HR 521

I've previously written concerning "The Social Security Guarantee Act" (H.R. 521) but it's important enough to Social Security recipients to warrant a follow-up letter.

Most people believe Social Security is a contract with the government one pays in and is paid back upon retirement. This isn't so. Back in 1960, the Supreme Court ruled (Flemming v. Nestor) the government has no legal contractual obligation to pay back our Social Security contributors. (This Supreme Court decision needs to be reviewed in today's Supreme Court.)

Flemming v. Nestor leaves Washington politicians free to spend Social Security funds for other purposes, which they have been doing for decades, bankrupting the Social Security funds, so that full benefit payments may soon be reduced.

With our $33 trillion national debt continuing to sky-rocket and Social Security getting closer to bankruptcy and reforms on the horizon, H.R. 521 would protect recipients' income.

This raid on Social Security began back in 1967, by L.B.J. to hide his growing budget deficits. In 1990, in a bi-partisan effort, Senator John Heinz (R-Pa.) and Senator Fritz Hollings (D-S.C.) called out this raid on Social Security but to no avail.

Passing H.R. 521 would negate the 1960 Supreme Court decision and would prohibit politicians from reducing or cutting the amount of anyone's full Social Security benefits and would force politicians to cut their special interest spending, tighten their belts and stop freeloading off Social Security funds.

$482 billion dollars of Social Security trust fund money has been wasted on projects like:

* $3 million watching hamsters on steroids fight;

* $2.1 million encouraging Ethiopians to wear shoes;

* $2.5 million injecting six-month-old beagle puppies with cocaine;

* $689,222 studying the romance between parrots; and more.

Remember, the Biden Administration is seeking to cut Social Security benefits for hard working American citizens, who have paid into Social Security for a lifetime, to pay benefits to migrants, who illegally sneaked across our Southern Border. Thus rewarding illegals for violating our immigration laws.

Congressman Alex Mooney (R-W.Va.) has reintroduced "The Social Security Guarantee Act" as H.R. 521. Everyone should get behind him and give him their full support.

Everyone should contact representatives in Washington and tell them to support H.R. 521.
