Since the early 1960s, the Social Security trust fund has been raided and is currently being filled with worthless IOUs. If this continues, Social Security will go bankrupt. To save Social Security, it must immediately be put in a lockbox. The Social Security trust fund can be saved only if it is protected by a lock box.
Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., is working to get the Savings for Seniors Act (HR 313 in the 117th Congress) introduced in the 118th Congress. If Social Security isn't protected from our politicians, sometime in the near future it will not be there for us when needed.
For generations, the government has promised citizens that after a lifetime of paying in to Social Security, it would be there for retirees. Our government is now on the verge of breaking that promise. The promise could be kept for current and future generations if Social Security were secured in a lock box.
No American should face paying into Social Security for a lifetime only to be denied their benefits when needed.
Everyone should contact their representatives and tell them to support HR 313. Also contact Blackburn and express your support.

After being raided for decades, the Social Security trust fund needs those funds replenished, instead of spending taxpayer money rewarding illegal immigrants by putting them up in $500-a-night hotel rooms, providing them with food which they refuse to eat and thus waste, and by sending billions to the Ukraine, including the billions sent to help Ukrainians establish green energy. That money should be used to replenish the Social Security trust fund and give seniors a livable monthly payment.
