Letter to the Editor: Living within means
Trending
After reading a (letter to the editor) in the Sunday paper, which I agree with, I am writing this letter. I am also a senior citizen who lives on a fixed income and is affected by high inflation costs, especially for me the cost of my medications is more than I can afford. But because of health problems I need to take them. Keeps me out of the hospital.
Some people receive free food, housing and social services, but for me, I pay for everything and earn more over income limit. So that doesn't let me qualify for some help. Is this how we treat senior citizens? I don't think so.
We should not give a raise on our SS check, then the money is taken away by raising rent and other costs. Why give it then take it away?
I am only writing about this because I am a senior citizen, a widow and a retired nurse. I worked in health care and now I am alone and live as best I can. Maybe Congress and the government should try to live on a fixed income with everything going up!
I love my country and want what's best for all citizens, but we all must live within our income and that applies to Congress and our president. So let's give senior citizens credit for wanting us all to get what we worked for and give seniors the respect they deserve.
We all want what's best for our country!
