How depressing to read in your editorial “Wake up Call” of Jan. 24 that, “Somehow our children seem to be less safe then they have been; and are most in danger in their homes, among their family members.”

Actually, this horror begins even earlier with the child in its mother’s womb, as we now watch on television the spectacle of crowds of women clamoring for the “right” to kill their unborn children by abortion.

I like the choice of your word “somehow” as if we arrived at this dreadful state by some mystical, accidental, unknown way. Not so –think about it. Trace the reasons, trace the steps.
