Letter to the Editor: Corruption is name of game

It’s too early to evaluate the job Kevin McCarthy is doing as House Speaker, but he is off to a fine start. Recent Republican Speakers John Boehner and Paul Ryan were utter disappointments.

Nancy Pelosi was a great leader but she led the U.S. in the wrong direction in backing Biden’s out-of-control spending and his America-last policies. Had she pushed America-first policies with equal zeal she would have been a historically great speaker.

The only death occurring during the so-called Jan. 6 riot was Ashli Babbitt, an unarmed protester, posing no threat to anyone, but was shot by a capital police officer. Any other police officer in America would have been indicted for murder. No capital police officers were killed during the “riot,” despite misinformation otherwise.

Reports said that capital police officers removed “no trespassing” signs inside the capital building, waved protesters in, then began arresting them. There were also allegedly undercover FBI agents in the crowd egging them to “riot,” which is entrapment and illegal for law enforcement officers.

These should be investigated by the new Republican-led House, also why then-speaker, Nancy Pelosi refused President Trump’s offer of 5,000 national guardsmen to quell any potential lawlessness.

Biden continually condemns the Jan. 6 “riot,” but he never condemns the 2020 “summer of love riots,” which cost billions of dollars of damage and many injuries and deaths. Why? Is it because those rioters were Democratic supporters?

The Republicans rightfully criticize Biden and the Democrats because they created the southern border crisis, the crime problem, the energy crisis, etc. Republicans have reached across the table to work with Democrats.

Mitch McConnell over-reached “across the aisle” to the Democrats. Biden has stated he will not negotiate with House Republicans.

The Supreme Court was right in abolishing Roe. The earlier Supreme Court decision supporting Roe was the big mistake. Today, abortion is in the hands of the states, instead of being forced on the states by Roe.

“Guns don’t kill people, people kill people.”

The Democrats’ “revolving door” justice system continually releases criminals back on the streets, and with untold thousands of foreign criminals pouring across our southern border daily, disarming law-abiding Americans, leaving them defenseless, is not the answer.

The current Democratic Party is the party of corruption. The entire Biden family are prime examples.
