Letter to the Editor: A sincere thank you

On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Parkersburg Homecoming Festival, I wanted to take this opportunity to say “thank you” to our community for the abundance of support we received this year.
We are pleased to announce we had an extremely successful weekend packed with an assortment of activities, large crowds, and a diverse group of vendors!
We would like to extend our most sincere gratitude to our business sponsors, to the City of Parkersburg (especially to the Public Works Department, the Parkersburg Police Department, and the Parkersburg Fire Department!), as well as Sheriff Woodyard along with Wood County Dispatch Center/E911 for providing their Emergency Command Post.
Special thanks go to our diligent vendors, and even the ones we did not have room for but had inquired about participating! We had a nice variety to be sure everyone in attendance could enjoy their favorites, including two trucks to keep up with the funnel cake demand!
We deeply appreciate everyone who has supported our fundraising efforts throughout the year, including purchasing Rubber Ducky Derby tickets, as they help fund our annual festival. Thank you to our guests who attended our events, exhibits, and musical acts. We hope to continue to grow each year, and we cannot do that without you!
As our mission statement outlines — our goal is to provide a family friendly weekend of free entertainment, exhibits, and related attractions as well as improve the quality of life to our citizens. We strive to support all local businesses, tourist attractions, and all efforts to promote our community!
In closing, I would like to acknowledge the numerous requests for information on how to get involved with our organization. You can send us a message on our Facebook page “Parkersburg Homecoming,” attend one of our monthly meetings, or you can email us at kyleeventwv@gmail.com. We look forward to seeing fresh faces!
