Letter to the Editor: Lifestyle choice a danger

(Letter to the Editor - Graphic Illustration/MetroCreativeConnection)

Studies have shown that a society that does not promote marriage between a man and a woman will destroy itself within a generation and no longer be a factor on the world scene. Yet we as a nation are now celebrating the lifestyle that will destroy us.

Gay pride festivals and parades are carried and celebrated in our newspapers and TV news items as a wonderful thing. Gay marriage is held up as something to be proud of. Instead of celebrating, we should be looking at the fact that the gay lifestyle leads to early death and illness.

[Citations of several studies can be found in “The Agenda,” by Louis P. Sheldon.]

Instead of gay, the fact that studies show it’s a sadder and shorter life. We as society should be trying to eliminate the illnesses and problems that we turn our back on. Fewer than 2% of homosexuals will reach old age (old age defined as 65).

Alfred Kinsey’s research done in the 1930s and 40s found that fewer than 1% of homosexuals would live to be 65. The figures would be much higher today.

Despite the letters to the editor I see telling us to live and let live, that is not the case. Otherwise I wouldn’t be writing today. I am a Christian and believe God’s word to be true. Our nation will suffer greatly if we continue down this path we are on. They say they are offended when Christians speak out, well I am offended when I am told I am a bigot and a hate monger, which is far from the truth.

God doesn’t make mistakes; gay lifestyle is a choice. All studies showing likewise have never been tested. Researchers Dean Hamer, Simon LeVay, Michael Bailey and Richard Pillar that set out to prove the innate nature of homosexuality. But in peer reviews and laboratory trials, none of these studies have been successfully replicated.

This means that it hasn’t been proven. I stick with God’s word. Romans 1:24-28
