Letter to the Editor: The sinful disgrace of ‘Pride’
Trending
I read with disgust the stories about the so-called "Pride" events held in the Parkersburg City Park recently. What a sad group of people wanting the public to celebrate their display of degenerate behaviors. Well, I do not celebrate it, but rather disdain it. All this does is show the impressionable youth of Parkersburg and surrounding areas that some people have some serious issues. It is for us, the conservative citizens, to speak up or get used to such perverted displays in Parkersburg.
I am a Parkersburg native, but now am ashamed of what is taking place in my hometown. They want us to celebrate their homosexual behavior, their trans changes or anything else you want to call it. God says it is wrong and He does not make mistakes. There are only two sexes, no matter what things you have done to your body. These people are craving your approval about what they have done and are doing. Of course, they say it is all about love. Well, if it is all about love, why do I read in the newspaper about divorces between same-sex couples that would have you believe their "love" was forever? Statistics show those ungodly unions do not last long. Yes, I know opposite sex unions end in divorce, too. What a sorry discourse this tells of our society today.
As for the drag queen performances, it is like Halloween in June!
Those people on display in the park on that weekend need to realize that probably 95% or more of Parkersburg citizens think it is just a freak show. Something you might see at a side show at a carnival. Oh, of course, they are sincere and are just exercising their freedoms to show off. Well, most citizens do not approve of it and think you all are demented.
I do not hate those people at the park, and do not want any harm to come to them at all, but I do not and will not approve of those types of behaviors. Yes, God loves them, but God hates sin. I can pray that God changes hearts.
