Is climate science really settled? A recent official government article suggests there may be no science.

Quoting from the NOAA Climate.gov release (10/2/21) “Why did Earth’s surface temperature stop rising in the past decade?”

“The ‘pause’ in global warming observed since 2000 followed a period of rapid acceleration in the late 20th Century. Starting in the mid-1970s, global temperatures rose 0.50C over a period of 25 years. Since the turn of the century, the change in Earth’s global mean surface temperature has been close to zero.”

For the record CO2 emissions worldwide increased from 23.1 billion metric tons in 2000 to 33 billion metric tons in 2021 (42.8% increase) with “close to zero” temperature increase. Why haven’t the temperatures increased as predicted? Why the panic to decarbonize?

For those who wish to ignore the above data and believe CO2 made by burning of fossil fuels will lead to disaster, it matters not what the U.S. does to mitigate, there will be no effect to the trajectory the world is on. John Kerry states that “if the U.S. production of CO2 were zero today it would make no difference — the world is doomed from the CO2 produced by the rest of the world now and the foreseeable future.”

Either way raises the question, why does Biden along with so many politicians promote an accelerated high cost disruptive decarbonization program? China and India don’t seem to be concerned about a CO2 Climate Change driven apocalyptic ending and China has politely asked that we ship all the coal we can produce to them.

Why have not our leaders looked at the data and asked why temperatures have not gone up in sync with the use of fossil fuels before engaging in any program? That’s their job. It is obvious the science base is shaky (a read of the reports and a look at the ballet dancing tells all). None of the models match any of the data — this after many years. Many scientists (including Chinese) predict a coming cold period, even an ice age based on a sustained quiet sun.

It’s time for the leadership to be the leaders they were elected to be and become honest with the people and at a minimum do the right thing. Establish a well thought out fully integrated non disruptive energy program that yields abundant low-cost environmental acceptable secure energy. America First.
