Political correctness gone too far

The 117th Congress, which was sworn in Jan. 3 — Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has proposed a rule change that is as follows:

In clause 8(c)(3) of rule XXIII, strike “father, mother, son, daughter, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, first cousin, nephew, niece, husband, wife, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, stepfather, stepmother, stepson, stepdaughter, stepbrother, stepsister, half brother, half sister, grandson, or granddaughter” and insert “parent, child, sibling, parent’s sibling, sibling’s child, spouse, parent-in-law, child-in-law, sibling-in-law, stepparent, stepchild, stepsibling, half-sibling, or grandchild.”

No longer will it be permitted on the house floor to any longer refer to any of their family members as per above. The office of Ombudsman will now be the office of Ombuds, no longer will a person submit his or her resignation.” It will simply be “resigns,” etc. It should also be noted that the opening prayer to the 117th Congress by Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, a Missouri Democrat, concluded by saying “amen” and “awoman.” Are we really ready for this?

So if a House member’s family member does not want to be addressed as a gender neutral being; tough luck. Per PJ Media, “asking House members to refer to their own family members with gender-neutral terms has nothing to do with respecting gender identity or inclusion, it has to do with forced compliance with transgender ideology. Apparently, to the left, being inclusive now means denying the ability to acknowledge the gender of one’s own family members.” I would have to assume that to address a committee chair, members will no longer be able to address them as Madam chairperson, or Mr. chairperson, or no longer permitted to say yes sir or yes ma’am. I am fearful that this is only the beginning of the extreme left catering to demands of a very small minority and it will not stop here. Maybe we will no longer be able to use words for colors such as brown, yellow, black, white, etc., in that it may be offensive to various ethnicities/races. Maybe Congress will demand the eradication of men’s and women’s restrooms; oops! I mean person restrooms. You can see how this could go off the rails.

The voters of America have made this bed. Now they will have to sleep in it. Stay tuned. It will be a hoot.
