UP: To the celebration of WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center's 125 years serving our community. "There is a rich history of health care and dedication to our community at Camden Clark," said Steve Altmiller, president and CEO. "There are traditions and roots here that grow strong, like we have, to be the foundation of our community for 125 years, and we look forward to continuing to provide state-of-the-art, patient-centered care to meet the needs of our communities for generations to come." That doesn't happen without the doctors, nurses and staff who have dedicated themselves to meeting our community's health care needs. Congratulations on 125 years, and may there be many, many more to come.

UP: To those who helped Memorial Health Foundation raise nearly $130,000 during its 18th annual Hollywood Nights Fashion Show. "We are thrilled with the outpouring of support from the community. This event broke records, and we are grateful to everyone who made it possible," Jarrett Stull, executive director of Memorial Health Foundation, said. "All proceeds from the fashion show will benefit local cancer center patients and help them maintain their quality of life and continuity of care." The money will go toward the Cancer Center Patient Emergency and Breast Health Funds. Our community is fortunate to have so many generous people willing to give on this and many other occasions.

UP: To members of the Parkersburg Shimmy Mob, who were set to perform Saturday at Point Park as part of the international belly dance flash mob event on World Belly Dance Day. This year's effort was to raise awareness of domestic abuse and support local women's and children's shelters. "This expression of dance lifts up women especially and gives them hope to carry on," said team leader Jewels Whitley. "Shimmy Mob is an experience that translates this over the entire globe and helps women struggling in domestic abuse situations."
