Amy Marshall-Colon passed away on July 26, 2025, at the age of 46 with her mother, Lorna Marshall (Yoho), and husband, Gabriel Colon, by her side. Born in Parkersburg, WV, to Lorna and Richard Marshall, she went on to earn degrees from Lipscomb University, University of Florida, and, ultimately, a PhD from Purdue University. After completing a National Institute of Health fellowship at New York University, she was proud to become a professor in the plant Biology Department at University of Illinois; a job she loved.
