Susan Darlene (Martin) Lott

Susan Darlene (Martin) Lott, 85, of Fleming, Ohio, went home to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior on Thursday morning, October 22, 2026. She was born in Marietta, Ohio, on July 25, 1941, and was the daughter of the late Earl and Mildred Martin.

Susan graduated from Vincent High School in 1959, married the late William (Bill) Lott, her husband of 65 years in December, 1960. Bill preceded her in death on January 16, 2026. Together they raised 2 daughters, Pam Atkinson (Mark) and Linda Benson. Susan’s 6 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren were a constant source of happiness and contentment. She enjoyed hosting family holiday gatherings and always ensured there was plenty of food, home baked goodies, and surprises for everyone.

Susan worked at Casual Corner in Grand Central Mall for 20 years. She enjoyed meeting her many regular customers and was known for her personal fashion sense and even participated in a little “retail therapy” herself on more than one occasion. After her retirement she enjoyed day trips with friends, tending to her garden, and baking days with her daughters.

Susan lived on her family farm for the entirety of her 85 years. The farm provided her family with a place all could call home as they left the local area to pursue careers and families of their own. No matter how far family members ventured they always knew and counted on the strong family connection and foundation that existed on the farm in Fleming. She provided not just a piece of real estate but a sense of home, family, comfort, and security for her children and grandchildren.

Arrangements are being managed by Leavitt Funeral Home in Belpre, Ohio. Visitation will be on Monday, October 26, from 6 to 8 PM and 1 hour prior to services. Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, October 27, at 11:00 AM at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Belpre, with Pastor Eric Egger officiating.

The family wishes to extend their appreciation to Cawley Hospice and Waterview Pointe staff members for their compassionate care and respect extended to Susan in her final days.
