Rose Ellen Ginn, 88, of Los Alamitos, California, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2026.

Rose was born on August 20, 1938, in Mineral Wells, West Virginia, one of six daughters of George Clifton Wolfe and Naoma Elizabeth Cooper Wolfe. Her father died when she was young, and her mother raised all six girls on her own. After high school, Rose boarded a train for Santa Monica, California, where she went to work for the telephone company. With no family money to fall back on, she built a life for herself through determination and hard work, and she helped support her mother and younger sisters back home.

In Santa Monica, Rose met Roy Freemont Ginn, who had grown up in a small rural town in Ohio not far from Mineral Wells. That connection to home sparked a love story. Rose and Roy were married on May 9, 1964, at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Parkersburg, West Virginia, and they remained devoted to each other until Roy's death in 1997. Together they raised their family in Los Alamitos, in the home where Rose lived for the rest of her life. Rose loved photography, and the pictures she took of Santa Monica in the late 1950s and early 1960s are treasured by her family.

Rose helped raise her granddaughter, Naomi, and the two were inseparable. They spent countless afternoons reading together, and Rose gave her a lifelong love of learning. She lived to see Naomi graduate from college, marry, and become an attorney, and she could not have been prouder. Rose was a loyal Los Angeles Angels fan. Her family will always hear her saying, "I love you, a bushel and a peck, a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck."

Rose was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy Freemont Ginn; and her sisters, Lois Ann Thompson, Shelia Minton, and Donna Kay Day.

She is survived by her children, Robin L. Doronn and Ross A. Ginn; her granddaughter, Naomi L. (Ginn) Baltins (Michael); and her sisters, Nancy Voelker and Shirley Donham.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Parkersburg, West Virginia.
